Customized 2P Solar Tracker Minimum Energy Consumption
Working principle:
A single axis 2P solar tracker direct the solar panels towards the sun to collect maximum solar energy throughout the day. Tracking system is designed to literally follow sun’s position at every minute, hour, and day, manual adjustment is not needed.
In traditional fixed mount plants, the power output follows a bell curve during the day, it gradually increases until peaking at noon, then start to decrease. However, in single axis solar plants, we get the maximum power from early morning and this output is maintained until late afternoon. Hence, the performance increase of approximately 25% as compared to the fixed PV installation.
Unlike traditional fixed mount plants, single-axis tracking systems need more space per module for the rotation of the PV modules and to eliminate possible shading. However, the newest innovation in this field is to optimize site design by adjusting the layout to accommodate greater modules unique to its specific latitude and vertical tilt angle.
The use of solar trackers is increasingly on the rise in PV solar plants because it allows a significant gain in energy production; hence, improving project performance. Tracking systems cost more than the fixed mount PV Plants but the 25% gain in energy yield could significantly bring down the cost.
